Raspberries are an excellent source of nutrition and helpfiul for people who are watching
their weight: They are sweet, delicious and low in calories. A small portion of
raspberries contains one third of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C for an
adult, all of which is captured here in our Raspberry drinks. , There is also a healthy
amount of potassium calcium, magnesium and a little iron all of which promote good health.
In Scotland the Blaeberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) occurs commonly throughout the country and
is most abundant in the Highlands. It typically grows on areas of better-drained, acid
soils, and does best in shady conditions such as the underneath of tree canopies.
On moors and heaths, blaeberry typically occurs under heather (Calluna vulgaris), and in
some cases can be an indicator of the former presence of woodland there.
